Although marketed as an entry level projector, it has to be said that the Vivitek HK projector is capable of producing image quality by punching well above its weight class – successfully. This includes all the important picture nuances such as detail, depth and motion processing. It’s actually hard to even pick out any real flaws with the end product.
The Vivitek HK projector is capable of playing video content all the way up to 4K Ultra HD resolution.
Switching on HDR mode upgrades the colour palate significantly, by enhancing hues and providing more solid contrast. Although black levels and brightness levels could be better, the colouring comes across far from being washed out or muted.
The Verdict
A truly excellent projector for the price users will be paying for it. Some improvements needed in the refinement of black and brightness levels – but otherwise a top notch 4K projector delivering in all the right areas.
